Eligibility
Who can apply?
The Sudine Riley Scholarship Program is open to students who:
Identify as Black
Are enrolled in the Paralegal Program at Anderson College (London Campus)
Have completed or are completing Criminal Law
Meet all application requirements
Submit their application within the designated application period
More Than a Grade
The scholarship is not determined strictly by academic ranking or the highest Criminal Law grade.
Legal Judgment & Discernment
Primary consideration
Has the ability to thoughtfully apply legal principles, exercise sound judgment, and critically engage with criminal law concepts.
Criminal Law Performance
Strong performance in Criminal Law is an important consideration, although the highest grade does not automatically determine the recipient.
Class Engagement
Meaningfully engages with course material and classroom learning.
Responsiveness to Feedback
Has the ability to receive feedback constructively and demonstrate improvement.
Growth
Demonstrates academic, professional, or personal development throughout the course.
Financial Need
Financial need may be considered as part of the overall application but is not determinative.
